1.Schedule your free consultation by calling 303-883-7195 or email 1cvb@privatei.com. We'll help you every step of the way!
2.Choose your photos wisely. It's the most essential task. Make it easier by sorting your favorite and highest quality shots. Don't worry about scratches or other damage; we can probably handle it. Bypass any out of focus or grainy photos. Sometimes, that's all we have left of our loved ones. So if it is important to your story then by all means include it in your montage.
3.Number each photo by placing a sticky note on the back. Do not write on the photo, as this will compromise the life expectancy of your photo. If you are providing digital files, rename each file with the number (i.e. 027.jpg).
4.Decide what type of show you would like. Do you want an emotional and slow moving show? Or would you prefer a peppy and uplifting show? Perhaps you would like to have a range of emotions within the show, combining songs to set the mood. Deciding this will help you choose your music. We can give suggestions. However choosing music is a very personal decision. You may provide us with your original CD or we will purchase music for you on your behalf. You must own each song for your own personal use to comply with copyright laws. The number of photos you have will determine how many songs you will need. A good rule of thumb is 5-6 seconds of song time per photo. We can usually compress or extend the transitions to make them fit the song, but we may ask you to choose more music if your photo selection is abundant.
5.Prepare your materials for shipping. It is recommended that you send your photos via an insured traceable method. Be sure to package them so that your photos will not be damaged. We will do the same when it is time to return your photos to you.
6.If you are sending video footage to be included, please have the tape stopped at the point that you want it to appear.

Photo Scanning Tips
If you own a scanner and wish to scan your own photos to submit, please follow the recommendations below to provide the best results. Clean the scanner glass with a soft lint free cloth to ensure it is free of fingerprints, smudges and dust. If the photograph is in a picture frame or photo album, carefully remove it before scanning. If portions of the original photograph are stuck to the picture frame glass or album page, do not attempt to remove those portions and risk further damage. Scan these photos directly through the glass or sheet to try and get the highest quality image possible. Always handle photographs by their edges, avoid touching the picture area of the photo. If available, it is best to wear clean cotton gloves. Scan your photographs at 16 million colors RGB or higher, even if they are black and white. Scan at 300 dpi (dots per inch). This is very important. No scan should be less than 300 dpi. If your scanning software includes a "sharpen" or any other automatic correction option, please be sure that it is disabled. Save files as JPEGs. Use the highest quality (minimal compression) options. When scanning photos for a montage / slideshow project, be sure to label them numerically in the order in which they are to appear.
